Today is 131 years to the day that Mary Kelly, Jack the Ripper’s last Canonical victim, was murdered in Miller’s Court, Dorset Street, Spitalfields.
Her murder was the most shocking for its sheer savagery and the extent to which the killer mutilated the victim and was the only one of the Canonical Five murders to be committed indoors.
Kelly, who was 25 when she was killed, was the youngest Canonical victim. She is buried at St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Leytonstone, East London.
